Network Administration Option/Certificate: Microsoft Track

Students entering this program will need to have basic computer skills such as would be obtained through the CIS 100 course (Introduction to Computers) or equivalent.

The Network Administration Option, Microsoft Track, provides the concepts and skills needed to design, set-up, maintain and expand a network using Microsoft’s Windows operating system.Upon completion of this program the graduate is qualified to sit for Microsoft exams leading to the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Certification.
Henderson Community College is a Microsoft/American Association of Community Colleges Working Connection School and Microsoft has funded more than $500,000 in software.

Associate of Applied Science Degree

The Network Administration Windows Option is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the area of network administration. Students will receive the skills necessary to problem solve and communicate within the complex industry of Information Technology. General Education classes include writing, communication, and math skills necessary in any industry. Technical courses include the skills necessary to run and operate local area networks using Windows 2000 as the primary operating system. Graduates will be qualified to take the industry-recognized Microsoft exams leading to Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) Certification.

The Microsoft Windows Certificate is designed for individuals already in the workforce who wish to receive specific training in Microsoft Windows. The courses within the certificates will assist employees who wish to prepare for positions dealing with the administration of a local area windows network. At the completion of the training, the student will have the skills necessary to take the Microsoft exams leading to Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) Certification. This program is designed to allow students to continue toward completion of the Associate of Applied Science Degree.
