Students entering this program will need to have basic computer skills such as would be obtained through the CIS 100 course (Introduction to Computers) or the equivalent. |
The Information Technology Programming option provides students with an introduction to programming languages with at least one of the languages studied at the intermediate level. Students will have the opportunity to study language in depth or develop a breadth of knowledge in several languages. Students completing this option are prepared for the entry–level position of computer programmer.

Program Description
Associate of Applied Science Degree

The Information Technology Program is designed to prepare its graduates for entry-level positions as computer programmers. Students develop the skills necessary to problem solve and communicate within the complex industry of Information Technology. General education courses include writing, communication, and math skills necessary in any industry. Technical courses include the skills necessary to support and troubleshoot computer programs.

Certificate

The Programming Certificate is geared toward people already in the workforce who wish to receive specific training in Computer Programming. The courses within the Certificate program will assist in the advancement as a programmer. This certificate is designed to allow students to continue toward completion of the Associate of Applied Science Degree.
