Admission Information and Registration Options
- Click on the appropriate admissions application link below, print and complete the admissions application, and mail it to Admissions and Records, 2660 S. Green Street, Henderson, Kentucky, 42420.
New Student Application: Complete this application if you have never attended HCC.
OR
Returning Student Application: Complete this application if you have been enrolled at HCC previously but did not attend the most recent semester.
- Apply online at www.kctcs.edu. ($5.00 fee required)
- Call the Admissions & Records Office at 270-831-9652 and ask us to mail you an admissions application.
- Stop by the Admissions & Records Office any time between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM (Monday through Friday) in Room 102 of the Administration Building and complete the appropriate admissions application.
FALL 2009 STEPS TO REGISTRATION
OPTION ONE
Step 1: Submit Application for Fall by April 1*
Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov
Step 3: Call 270-831-9607 to schedule an appointment with a success coach or to discuss
your next step in the process.
Step 4: Register for Classes (by appointment only between April 15 and April 30)
Step 5: Pay Tuition by August 12***
Additional steps may include Orientation and COMPASS Skills Assessment (see below).

All first-time degree-seeking students are required to attend Orientation. Transfer, readmit and non-degree seeking students are not required to attend but are welcome to do so. * Submit the application to the Admissions & Records Office, Room 102 in the Administration Building. Students may register for one semester only without a complete admissions file. See below for details:
· Students who have never attended college and want to earn a degree must submit
- Official High School Transcript or GED scores
- Official ACT Scores
`1 If you are not applying for Nursing, you may substitute COMPASS scores for ACT scores.
· Students who have attended other accredited colleges before entering HCC .must submit
- Official Transcripts from all colleges attended
· Students who regularly attend college elsewhere, but are enrolling for one
semester at HCC and then returning to the parent college must submit
- Transient Student Form (available at either college)

** Student Skills Assessment & Placement Policy-Assessment in English, math and
reading will be required of students whose corresponding subject area ACT score falls
below 18. Additional requirements may apply to math. Course placement will be mandatory as determined by the assessment results. In addition, placement into college classes will be restricted if the reading assessment indicates a student is reading below college level. This policy applies to the following students:
· First time credential seeking students
· Transfer students from outside the Ky. Community & Technical College System
· Visiting students (students from an institution outside KCTCS who are attending HCC for one semester)
· Non-degree seeking students who want to enroll in an English or math class
All students are required to meet the KCTCS and HCC Student Skills Assessment and Placement Policy and to meet course prerequisites. Any student found to be enrolled in a course who does not meet the placement and prerequisite requirements for the course will be dropped from the course. regardless of the date in the semester.

Ky. Resident: $121/credit hr.
Contiguous Counties:$156/credit hr.
Out-Of-Stat: $390/credit hr.
Fall 2009 Rates
KY Resident & eLearning: $125/Credit Hour
Contiguous Counties: $250/Credit Hour
Other/Out-of State:$375/Credit Hour
Residents of the following Indiana counties will be assessed tuition at the Kentucky resident rate: Perry, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick.
Tuition rates and fees are set by the KCTCS Board of Regents and the Council on Postsecondary Education and are subject to change by the action of these Boards.
MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit cards may be used for payment of tuition and books.
NOTE: KCTCS policy requires prompt payment arrangement and by having enrolled I understand that I am personally liable for payment under the terms and conditions published in the college’s schedule. There is a $50 Reinstatement Charge (to reinstate a student who is dropped for non-payment). Delinquent accounts are subject to referral to an outside collection agency, which may charge additional fees.
ADVANCE REGISTERED STUDENTS who do not plan to attend should cancel their registration by written notice to the Admissions Office no later than Wednesday, August 12.
FINANCIAL AID RECIPIENTS: Students receiving financial aid in the form of grants, loans, or scholarships should verify the amount being applied to their account to assure any balance is paid by Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Financial aid checks will be disbursed approximately thirty (30) days after the first day of classes. Students receiving financial aid must check with the HCC Bookstore to confirm their eligibility to charge books 24 hours after registration and no sooner than 10 days prior to the first day of class.
Note: A student enrolled in 12 credit hours is considered full-time. However, students enrolled in less than 12 credit hours may still be eligible to receive financial aid.
