Learning Skills Center
SULLIVAN SUCCESS CENTER
As part of the Title III Grant, Henderson Community College has created the Sullivan Success Center. Located on the second floor of the Sullivan Tech Center (Room 212), the Success Center is an area in which services to facilitate learning and to foster academic success are offered to all HCC students. Academic assistance is provided on a free, drop-in basis through peer tutors and faculty members. Individual assistance is also given by the Student Success Center Coordinator and is available in study and reading skills.
Students are able to utilize word processing and other CAI software as well as complete COMPASS in the Success Center's twelve station computer lab. COMPASS--used to identify students' present academic strengths and needs in the areas of math, writing, and reading--serves as a tool to assist students in the appropriate selection of courses commensurate with their current skills.
Generally the Success Center is open Monday through Thursday from
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please be mindful that changes will occur as necessary to accommodate the needs of the students.
You can find us on the second floor of the Sullivan Tech Center. Look for Rebecca Emerson, Advising Coach in office 221 or Nikki Brotherton, Coordinator of Assessment/Testing in office 224.
