Getting started with SUNRISE:

Step 1  Find your student ID number.  It is a nine digit number that begins with “001” and may be found on either your schedule, bill or student id card.

Step 2  If you are activating your account from an on-campus computer:
·         Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and enter your username as hen-genuser1and your password as Student!, then select “OK”
·         Select “New Users/Password Resets” 
If you are activating your account from an off-campus computer:
·         Go to SUNRISE at http://www.hencc.kctcs.edu/sunrise and select “Activate your SUNRISE username and password”

Step 3  Enter your last name and your nine digit student ID

Step 4  Select “Sign In”.  Your name should then appear on the screen.  Select “yes” if it is correct.

Step 5  Print the page with your account information so you will have it for future reference.  If you do not have access to a printer, make sure you write down your username (example: jdoe0004) and your email address (example: jdoe0004@kctcs.edu).

Step 6  Set your password.  The password must be 8 characters long.  It must include uppercase (A-Z) and lowercase (a-z) characters and numbers (0-9) or symbols and cannot include your name.  If you are activating your account from on-campus computer, you will have to log off at this point (select “start” in the lower left corner and then “Log Off”) and log back in with your new username and password.

Step 7  Go to SUNRISE at http://www.hencc.kctcs.edu/sunrise to access your student e-mail, student records (schedule, grades, account, and financial aid information), and register for classes via the web.  You will use the same username and password to log on to on-campus computers.

Accessing Your Student Records and Registering for Classes Via SUNRISE

·   Go to SUNRISE at http://www.hencc.kctcs.edu/sunrise

·   Select “Access your student records or register online (PeopleSoft)”

·   Select “LOGIN HERE” on the upper left side of the page

·   Enter your SUNRISE User ID and Password

·   Select “SA Self Service”

·   Select “Learner Services”

·   Select“Home”

·   Select “Learner Services” again

From this webpage, you can view:

Finances:  Your account summary/balance and financial aid.
Course Catalog and Schedule:  Course descriptions and class schedules.
Academics:  Your schedule, grades, advisor information, and access to online registration.

Class offerings for future terms are subject to change.  If the word “Processing” flashes at the top of your screen, select the refresh button on the browser to reload the page, or back to exit it.  When you are finished, close the browser to prevent others from accessing your information.
