Realted Institutional Objectives
How are we going to achieve the institutional objectives for Professional Development?
- Engage in an innovative, participant-led PD model for Fall 2007 / Spring 2008. This model will focus on instructional strategies defined as needs by faculty members. Regular face to face meetings based upon group schedules will be offered to give the faculty workgroups time to develop their projects. In addition, resources and strategy sessions will be offered in formats conducive to quick and indpendent access (online, elluminate sessioins, one on one sessions). It is the goal of the POD planning workgroup that 100% full-time faculty will participate.
- Connect activities to Hunter Boylan's checklist of Best-Practices in Developmental Education through the use of an activity rubric.
- Develop ePortfolios and/or action-research plans to be used as evidence of learning and results of activity implementation in the Spring of 2008.
- Conduct a PD colloquium for sharing project artifacts in the Spring of 2008.
- Develop a focus group in Project Based Learning.
- Engage part-time faculty in development sessions designed and planned to meet their unique needs.
